From the Desk of Pastor Tom
If money is a powerful tool to be used for the glory of God. What does that look like? Does that mean I need to sell all I have in order to care for those in need? How does a Christian respond to dramatic needs all around? Should Eastside as a church be focused on eradicating inequality and homelessness? Should we take offerings to send around the world to victims of natural crises? Well, the answer is yes we have the opportunity to do all of those things but our greatest priority as a church is the spread of the saving message of Jesus Christ. The way we use our resources as a congregation gives opportunities to show the love of God and share spiritual truth. Yet, money will not solve all of earth’s problems. People need Jesus Christ. So God has sent us as a church and you as an individual on a mission of Gospel witness. We cannot personally produce heaven on earth but as God gives opportunities to relieve pain and struggle we follow God’s leading. Christian generosity may not always look the same but Christians will be generous people!
