From the Desk of Pastor Tom

We are rejoicing in what God is doing in our hearts and in our church! I don’t know if you have ever thought to go back and rewatch a service on our YouTube channel but I would suggest you do it periodically. This may sound odd! But I try to do that every once in a while and let me tell you what a joy it is to listen to the singing. I love hearing you sing to the Lord. I love seeing people move with the music as they focus their hearts and minds on Christ. I love hearing the energy and “hum” of you loving and encouraging each other before the service even begins. I love knowing that we get to hear from the Word of God every week. This past week, I was a little confused by that beating sound at the beginning of the service but then I found out later it was the sound of our kids practicing downstairs to sing for us in a couple of weeks!! What a joy it is to hear those instruments and children’s voices coming through the floor as they learn to praise God together.
While we are able to rejoice together in these external things, we also know that God is working inside of us. I am daily praying for God to continue his good work inside our hearts and minds. I have been so blessed to sit with many of you and hear what God is doing inside of your life in small and large ways. Share those testimonies with each other. Let’s publicly tell God thank you for the smallest things he does (and for the largest!). If you have a scripture passage that has been a blessing to you or a truth about God that He has used in your life recently I would love to hear about it! If you have been speaking to your neighbor about Jesus, or if God has provided for you in a special way, or any other example of God’s goodness, share it! In fact, you can respond directly to this email with those stories of God’s grace in you.
Finally, we have been reminded repeatedly in our Acts series that even while God is doing wonderful things, the fight of sin still exists. Be in prayer for your fellow Christians. As we follow Christ together there are hidden and/or public struggles that we want to pray for God to work in. None of us are perfect and we are each daily in need of God’s gracious intervention. Be passionately praying for, loving, encouraging, and exhorting each other as we follow Christ in community. If you need help fighting sin, or you need someone to stand beside you as you fight to grow in Christ please let us know! Again, you can respond to this email or reach out to Pastor Tom or one of the deacons.
God Bless and I am rejoicing in all that God is doing. Seen. Unseen. Joyful. Uncomfortable. God is at work.
