    Politics and Scripture

With an election year upon us, it seems that politics has overtaken every aspect of our lives. But as Christians, where do we stand? Pastor Tom is starting a refreshing and thought-provoking two-week series titled Politics and Scripture. If you have ever been curious about how your faith intersects with politics, this series is not one to miss. Join us on Sunday mornings of July 7th and 14th as Pastor Tom shares his insights and helps us approach politics through the lens of scripture. Don’t forget to invite your friends and family to join in as well!

    Sharing the Gospel Effectively

Sharing the gospel—telling someone about the free gift of eternal life—is arguably the most important thing you can do. However, many people hesitate because they don’t know how to start or what to say. This guide provides several tools and methods to help you share the gospel with others more effectively.

    Starting the Conversation

Getting the conversation started can be challenging. You don’t need a perfect segue; natural conversations often work best. Use questions to steer the discussion toward spiritual topics, especially around holidays like Christmas or Easter, or when you’re about to pray for a meal. Asking, “Do you have a faith?”, “Do you have any history with church?”, or “What do you personally believe?” can also open up the dialogue.

    Romans Road

The Romans Road uses specific Bible verses from the book of Romans to explain the gospel:

    •        Romans 3:23 – The problem of sin.

    •        Romans 5:8 – Christ’s sacrifice.

    •        Romans 6:23 – The wages of sin and the gift of God.

    •        Romans 8:1 – No condemnation in Christ.

    •        Romans 10:9 – How to be saved.

For visual learners, the Bridge Illustration is a simple drawing that helps explain the gospel. It can be used in combination with other methods like the Romans Road.

    Your Testimony

Your personal testimony is perhaps the most powerful tool for sharing the gospel. It requires no memorization and feels natural. Include your life before Christ, how you came to trust in Him, and your life now.

    — These are a few methods to share the gospel. Spend time praying that God would help you witness more effectively, loving and listening to each person you meet.
