Call for Help

As you walk down the hallway, cries and giggles echoed through the halls. The nursery was overflowing with bouncing babies and restless toddlers, and the exhausted nursery volunteers were in serious need of extra hands. Are you someone with a warm smile and a heart for children? Would you be willing to lend a helping hand in our church nursery?
Whether you are available for a one-time volunteer opportunity or willing to join the regular rotating roster, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Our Pastor is eager to connect you with our energetic nursery team. So don’t hesitate to approach him after the service or during office hours. Trust us, the joyful noise of giggling babies and happy toddlers is an experience you don’t want to miss. Join us in our mission to nurture and care for the little ones in our community. We could use all the help we can get, and who knows, you may just find your heart overflowing with love as you witness the innocence and purity of these little blessings. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these precious children. Are you ready to be a part of the nursery dream team? Come now, and let’s spread some love, one tiny smile at a time.

From the Desk of Pastor Tom

Do you like stories that have surprising twists? This story of God’s church in Acts has been a roller coaster. The glorious highs of the indwelling of the Spirit, rushing wind, tongues of fire dancing above people’s heads, speaking in languages they have never learned, thousands being saved. then foundation quaking lows: opposition, imprisonment, beatings, and death. Why do people still worship Jesus when they face suffering and death? I want to shake you up today and break you out of the mold you have placed yourself in. How would you describe yourself? Who is someone you would never talk to? Or maybe you are sitting there thinking, well I would talk to anyone! Great! let me rephrase the question then: What would be a type of person that you feel you have nothing in common with? You are so radically different from them that there is no commonality at all. I mean, you might even view them as radical. Who do you wish would go away?
In a world known for conflict, in a nation characterized by segregation, you are about to see God command Peter to reach across the divide for the sake of the Gospel. We are about to see a wall-breaking, barrier-crushing, stigma-shattering, witness for Jesus.
Acts 10 is an incredibly important teaching moment for Peter and for us. They had taken God’s commands for holiness and misapplied them to the place that they were no longer loving or reaching those different from them. This made the Jews more comfortable, helped them feel spiritual, it helped them feel good about themselves, but it was sin. Acts 10 brings a rebuke from God against this self-righteous attitude which hinders the spread of the Gospel.

Giving

Did you know there are many ways to support your church ministry.  In addition to volunteering (see above), there are opportunities to support our church financially too.  In the back of the church there is a donation box.  You can also give online using the convenient online giving page on our website:  http://www.EastsideBaptistMooresville.com/give/ Your generous donations support the daily operations of your local church, many missionaries around the world, as well as the improvements that you see around here (you’ll be seeing some more of these in the near future 😊).
