Church Directories
The updated church directories are now available in the foyer. We encourage every member to take a copy home to support one another in prayer and strengthen fellowship within our church family. After reviewing the directory, consider reaching out to someone you don’t know well to build meaningful connections.
For those who have already taken a directory, please pick up 2 update stickers to ensure your copy reflects the most current information.
Thank you for being a vital part of our community and for your commitment to fostering unity and fellowship.
Southeast Asia Missionary Update
We support a missionary couple in southeast Asia who has been closely connected with Eastside for a long time. They need additional financial support and the deacons have chosen to increase their support level to $150/month. We will not share their names here for security reasons, but feel free to ask Pastor Tom or the deacons if you would like to know more. Thank you for your consistent giving towards God’s Gospel work here and around the world!

If you can seat guests and serve drinks or if you are interested in attending the banquet, please let Amy Horton know. to help make this event extraordinary and impactful.

Constitution Update #3
We announced in January that the deacons will be working through the Constitution in 2025. We have a good constitution but there are a few things that can be refined. Our goal is to preserve or make more clear our biblical beliefs in the updated document. There is no desire to change theology or remove Scripture instead we desire to make it more clear, more readable, and more explicitly biblical.
This month, we reviewed the articles of Faith sections related to the person and work of Christ and the Holy Spirit. We had good statements in each of these sections but we used this opportunity to change them to paragraph format, add scriptural support, and clarify some wording.
As we work through the sections of the constitution, we will be providing them to you, the congregation, at each step of the way throughout the year. Please take time to read over these constitutional updates alongside God’s Word and feel free to ask questions. We are not perfect or inspired, and unlike Scripture, this document will not be perfect or inspired. We do desire to accurately present biblical truth. The hope is to work sequentially through our constitution, provide monthly updates and answer questions, and then vote on the completed document during our December church business meeting.
Newly Updated Sections
Section 4 – The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ became man without ceasing to be God. He is the virgin-born Son of God conceived of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Christ made our redemption possible by His death on the cross through his substitutionary atonement for sinners. We believe that our justification is made sure by Christ’s bodily resurrection, ascension to Heaven, and present reign at the Father’s right hand. He serves as our High Priest representing God to man and man to God. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1; 20:28; Romans 9:5; 8:32; II Corinthians 5:21; I Peter 2:21-23; John 20:30, 31; Matthew 20:28; Ephesians 1:4; Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6-8; 6:9, 10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:28; I Timothy 3:16)
Section 5 – The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third distinct member of the Triune God. The present ministry of the Holy Spirit involves indwelling and empowering believers. He is a divine teacher who assists believers to understand and apply the Scriptures. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness. He is the agent of salvation; He seals, sanctifies, gives gifts, and helps the believer. (John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26, 27; John 16:9-14; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22-26)
